Dixon VFD recently responded to a serious wildfire in town related to burning brush on a dry windy day. Dry leaves have accumulated over the winter, adding to the risk of rapid spread. Outdoor burning permitted only on weekend days with a permit. All outdoor burns must be phoned in to Rio Arriba Central Dispatch 20 minutes before (505-753-5555). Even with a permit, please use common sense.
